Fake Movie Posters Using AI

What do you do when you’re recovering from surgery and are stuck at home for over a week? Well since I had just finished reading Heat 2 by Michael Mann and Meg Gardiner I decided to make some homage parody posters as if the novel was a film using new AI tools including Midjourney, SwapID, and Photoshop Beta. 

I combined assets rendered from those tools with stock photos, found imagery, and still images from different films. It was challenging combining such a wide variety of imagery from different mediums and eras while maintaining a sense of cohesion. I think some of the posters came out better than others but the point wasn’t pixel perfection it was to explore these new tools and have lots of fun with it!

I especially loved how insane the Otis Wardell character in the book was and I couldn’t think of anyone better than Javier Bardem to portray his crazy ass. It was entertaining spending time shaping his appearance in each poster.
